American Literary Magazine, lovingly referred to as AmLit, is American University's student-run literary and visual arts magazine. AmLit is comprised of poetry, prose, photography, art and short film submitted by the AU campus community and is published biannually at the end of the fall and spring semesters. The magazine is available both in print and online.
Aside from publishing a magazine each semester, we aim to foster an inclusive, creative community on campus. We host several events throughout the year, including readings, art shows, workshops, lectures, and film festivals. While many of us are writers and artists, you do not have to be creative to join the AmFam. We welcome all kinds of people with every different major under the sun, with any level of experience and time commitment!
